Everything old can be new again!

This postcard rendering is a nod to the likes of what the Public Water Works Building and it's most impressive centerpiece, the

 Water Fountain once looked like.

Both the building and fountain were completed in 1923, built by Joseph L. Sweigard & Co. of Philadelphia.

 Joseph was a senior partner and specialist in designing & consulting artesian waterworks. To celebrate the 102 nd. Anniversary this year, we are delighted to steward this iconic grass roots community project! 

Seven years ago and counting, a small  group of Ventnor City residents interested in the restoration of the fountain got together. With fond memories of the fountain flowing in its prime, historic research, drive and steadfast commitment, the Ventnor Fountain Friends  was created in 2023.

Today and in partnership with the City of Ventnor, we are now poised to move forward to recast history and rebuild a new fountain, reflective of the original.

 The VFF a.k.a. Ventnor Fountain Friends, in agreement with the City of Ventnor will raise private funds to pay for this new fountain rebuild.

A 501c3 Non-profit status has been  established by the VFF and we can now begin to accept donations .

With  your friendship and support we can make this new fountain a community  legacy. Consider lending your time, talent or treasure as we forge ahead to meet our project goals together.

 You  may have noticed the recently lit fountain as you walked, biked, drove  or sailed by. The City of Ventnor partners in our vision to draw  attention to the historic fountain.

 Once the rebuild is complete, it will serve as an inclusive public green space for  multi-generations , proud neighbors and visitors to enjoy while making new lasting memories in Ventnor City.
